The Fort Tryon Park Trust and NYC Parks are launching “Wonderful Wednesdays” which take place on the first Wednesday of each summer month (7/7, 8/4, 9/1). The park’s roads will close to cars from 6 – 11 p.m. on these three nights! Pack a picnic, your blanket, sidewalk chalk, and tricycle or bicycle to spend a car-free sunset in the park.
To kick off Wonderful Wednesdays on July 7, the Fort Tryon Park Trust will present a free movie screening of The Wizard of Oz with a pre-show concert by the Venzal Combo on Cloisters Lawn. Children’s games and activities will be available starting at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.

6:00 p.m. Fort Tryon Park roads close to auto traffic

6:00 p.m. Kid’s games
6:30 p.m. Latin jazz by Venzal Combo
8:15 p.m. Introduction to the film by grandson of Margaret Hamilton (the Wicked Witch of the West)
8:30 p.m. Movie starts
11:00 p.m. Park re-opens to auto traffic
On Wonderful Wednesdays, you can also join our regularly scheduled Sunset Yoga class on Abby’s Lawn from 6:45 – 8:00 p.m.
In the event of rain, the movie will be rescheduled.
