Performances

“I’m so grateful for the amazing performance I stumbled on tonight while setting off for my usual evening stroll through Fort Tryon Park. The dancing was electric, the music cutting edge, and everything was carried off with enormous aplomb and energy.” – Local James Lenoy on the Fort Tryon Park performance of Ghosts of Manhattan, 1512-2012: An Interactive History (Organic Magnetics, 2012)

In partnership with NYC Parks, the Fort Tryon Park Trust hosts a variety of musical and dance performances. For a relaxing afternoon, join us every summer for the annual Stan Michels Memorial Jazz Concert. We are also a sponsor of the Scandia Symphony concert series every June in the park. Scandia Symphony features the works of Scandinavian composers.

The Fort Tryon Park Trust also enlists local actors and musicians for the Commemoration of the Battle of Fort Washington, the Margaret Corbin tour, and for our annual wine tasting. And for one day each September or October, the park becomes a medieval fair, with costumed performers, authentic period music, dance, magic, jugglers, jesters, and a joust between four knights on horseback.
