The Fort Tryon Park Trust is a nonprofit conservancy that works to ensure Fort Tryon Park remains a beautiful sanctuary, a natural classroom, green gym, performance space, and community gathering place for all New Yorkers. We underwrite aging park infrastructure and amenity upgrades, make targeted repairs, fund supplemental maintenance staffing and equipment, and provide dynamic public programs to keep this 86-year-old park thriving.
On Earth Day, we are premiering the film we made to celebrate Fort Tryon Park’s 85 years and its significant impact on the lives of New Yorkers! It features interviews with key people in the park’s ongoing revitalization, such as Fort Tryon Park Trust founders Dr. Ruth Westheimer and Adrian Benepe, NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FAICP, and Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer, among others.
