Open House NY: Historic Cottage at Fort Tryon Park

On October 20th, we collaborated with Open House New York at the Historic Cottage in Fort Tryon Park, Washington Heights.

Located at the end of Cabrini Boulevard, this charming structure has housed gatekeepers, park managers, and now serves as the headquarters of the Fort Tryon Park Trust and NYC Parks-Northern Manhattan. Explore unique historical features like original log books, native cherry wood elements, a 1935 map by the Olmsted Brothers, and the basement door once used to open the gates to Riverside Park, where the original pillars still stand.

Tours were offered by Trust gardener and cottage historian Craig Peden!
