Fort Tryon Park offers an assortment of free fitness programs for all levels of skill. In addition to year-round Fitness Walks, Summer 2009 marked the fifth year of Sunset Yoga and the introduction of Tai Chi and Qi Gong—all free! Join one or more of these programs for a healthy and fun way to enjoy this landmarked park.
All programs are weather permitting; rain and temperatures below 20 F cancel.

Year–Round Fitness Programs
Fitness Walking Program
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7:30 a.m.–8:30 a.m.
Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.–9:30 a.m.
Description: Join us for one hour of walking, stretching, strengthening, and body toning using only the park, our own bodies, and gravity. All levels welcome; we modify to meet your level of ability. These walks are year–round (heavy rain or temperatures below 20 degrees Fahrenheit cancel).
Directions: Meet at the entrance to the Heather Garden on Margaret Corbin Circle where Cabrini Boulevard and Fort Washington Avenue converge.
Seasonal Fitness Programs
Sunset Qi Gong Classes
Mondays in the Summer, 6:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
Location: Linden Terrace
Description: With experienced instructor. Wear comfortable clothing.
Directions: Enter the park at Fort Washington Avenue and continue north along the promenade, up the steps to Linden Terrace.
Tai Chi Classes
Wednesdays in the Summer, 6:30 a.m.–7:30 a.m.
Sundays from October 11 to November 15, 11:15 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Location: Linden Terrace
Description: With experienced instructor. Wear comfortable clothing.
Directions: Enter the park at Fort Washington Avenue and continue north along the promenade, up the steps to Linden Terrace.

Sunset Yoga
Wednesdays in the Summer,
6:45 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
Location: Abby’s Lawn
Description: With certified Yoga Instructors. These yoga classes are suitable for all skill levels.Please arrive early, wear comfortable clothing, bring a towel or yoga mat, and water.
Directions: Enter the park at Fort Washington Avenue and continue north along the promenade, veer right at Linden Terrace, then left walk around, under the arch and down the path to Abby’s Lawn.
